Post office Credit Card

abcd

The Post Office credit card is a brand credit card from the great British institution - the Post Office! The post office has, for a long time, offered various financial products like savings, insurance and loans and now they have ventured into the business of credit cards with their brand name offering of the post office credit card.

The big difference with the post office credit card is that it is a double use card meaning you can use it as a credit card, with competitive rates or if you need to make a big purchase you can pre-arrange a personal loan on the card which carries a much lower rate of interest as compared to the regular purchases. You will still have to make a minimum payment but pre-arranging a loan for a purchase on the card carries an interest rate of just 6.8% pa. So if you wanted to buy, say a new refrigerator on your card, you could buy the Refrigerator as usual and then simply call the post office who will arrange for it to be put on the lower "loan" rate. You then have to pay that amount off in a 12 month period which is sufficient enough for you to repay it in easy installments.

You could obviously use the Post Office credit card like any normal credit card. They offer a great 0% on balance transfers for up to 8 months and 0% for 3 months on purchases and then a standard rate of just 14.9% APR, which is really on the lower side compared to what is offered by other cards in the UK market.

Another great benefit is for travellers - The post office are one of only a handfull of credit card providers who charge no commission on foreign currency purchases. Simple great offer!

Along with the marketing campaign for this product in full swing it is sure to become one of the most popular cards in the UK.

British Airways Credit Card

The British Airways credit card is provided by British Airways, in collaboration with American Express, one of the largest financial institutions in the world, and this card is easily accepted throughout the world.
The British Airway credit card is an excellent deal for you if you are an existing member of the BA Executive Club loyalty program or you are a frequent traveler on British Airways looking to make the most of a reward point based credit card.
For every single Pound you spend on the BA credit card you earn BA air-miles which you can use on British Airways to get free flights, upgrades or companion tickets.
There are 2 cards on offer the British Airways Credit Card, which offers 1 BA mile for every £1 spent and the BA Premium Plus Card which offers 1.5 BA miles for every £1 spent.
However, this card comes at a cost. The interest rates are very high, typically 26% APR on the premium plus card so this is really only a great card if you pay your balance off in full, each month. They do however offer a lifetime balance transfer rate of 4.9% APR, which is a real good bargain.
If you do pay off your bill each month then simply putting all your daily expenditure on the card could soon lead to enough points for that dream trip you've always wanted!

The standard rate is really very high but the lifetime balance transfer offer is quite attractive and competitive. The BA scheme is one of the best and at 1.5 miles per £1 spent the average person can easily build up a useful amount of miles to get some good benefits.
